Yesterday my brother Jack and I went to see Shrek the Musical in London (I bought him tickets for his birthday). We got the train to London at about 9am so that we would have time to spend some time in London. We went to M&Ms World to laugh at all of the tacky souvenirs. Then we had lunch in Chinatown and walked around Covent Garden for a bit. Then it was time to go to the show. It was actually much better than I expected it to be! Being the musical geek that I am, I laughed so much at all of the references to other musicals in it! The ensemble, score and costume were amazing. Nigel Lindsay who played Shrek was really good and Amanda Holden was far better than I expected her to be as Fiona. However, I thought Donkey was average. Not bad but he could’ve been so much funnier.
Then today Jack and I went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Now I’m really not a superfan. When I see posts on Tumblr saying, “Even though it’s the end, Harry Potter will be with me forever” I just cringe. Seriously, what is so good about it? Yeah, I like it, but why the obsession? I enjoyed the film for the most part but without giving anything away, I thought it ended on a massive anti-climax. And I know they wanted to keep it true to the book but the ending was ridiculous. So there’s my two cents on it, I will probably be wand-slapped to death by superfans now but oh well, it’s my blog!1 notes / 1 year ago / reblog
