"The (500) Days of Summer attitude of “He wants you so bad” seems attractive to some women and men, especially younger ones, but I would encourage anyone who has a crush on my character to watch it again and examine how selfish he is. He develops a mildly delusional obsession over a girl onto whom he projects all these fantasies. He thinks she’ll give his life meaning because he doesn’t care about much else going on in his life. A lot of boys and girls think their lives will have meaning if they find a partner who wants nothing else in life but them. That’s not healthy. That’s falling in love with the idea of a person, not the actual person." - Joseph Gordon-Levitt  (via blowkissesnotboys)

I love this film so much because it’s about real life. People don’t get the one they want in real life.

n’aww.

Can they please just marry?
500 Days of Summer

Watching this film now for what probably has to be at least the fifth time recently. I don’t even know why I love it so much. I think it’s firstly Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel (I mean come on, they’re like the coolest people ever and I ship them so hard but that’s another story) but also the fact that it’s so real. I know it’s a chick flick so I can’t really talk about the deep meaning in it because I don’t really think it has any, but I just like the fact that he doesn’t get the girl in the end and ride off into the sunset. I mean, real life isn’t like that. That isn’t what happens to the rest of us. So I think that’s probably why I identify with it so much. I love how it isn’t until later in the film that he realises the way she’s treated him as well, because that’s kind of something I’ve been through not too long ago and actually, if you take a step back and read the signs, they aren’t always what they seem. Anyway. Off to watch JGL being hot, bye.
